My 3 favorite deals of the week

Sorry for the lack of posts, my computer is dying, a slow painful death. A new one is on the way and I am running in slow, safe mode. Here is a quick rundown of my favorite deals this week, no "hard" coupons needed.

  1. 3 Free cards at Rite Aid. Use in ad coupon for $3 off 3 cards. Several cards are priced at 99 cents each, so three for free. You do need your wellness card, I believe.
  2. Free batteries at Staples. Get 2 free packs of batteries at Staples. You will need an Easy Rewards Card (free at register). Then buy 2 participating packs of batteries (AA and AAA) priced at $12.99 each and get back the full purchase price in the form of a Easy Reward Coupon. This will come in your email in a few weeks, but can be used to buy almost anything in Staples. Usually they have these batteries displayed at the front of the store.
  3. Albertsons Milk and Cereal Deal, for every 3 boxes of participating Kellogg's cereal you buy (priced at 3 for $5), you can get a catalina coupon for free milk. The best part is you don't have to break it up into separate transactions, multiple catalinas will print!

Stop: advanced part of the Albertsons deal, continue if you want to...
  1. For more coupons to use sign up atKelloggs
  2. Reports of doubles coming this weekend
  3. You may be able to get a $10 rebate for every ten boxes you buy...however this rebate looks to be for AARP members only. I am not sure yet...

Purex Complete with Zout, sample and coupon giveaway

Wow, I never noticed before how Spring Cleaning incorporated laundry products. Between all the high value coupons, sales, free samples, and product reviews, I have a cupboard full of laundry products.

As a Purex Insider, I was sent a bottle of Purex Complete with Zout to try and review. As a busy mom, I love built in stain fighter in case I forget to pretreat something or more than likely something gets in the washer without me noticing the stain. I had a rough load to try it on...my two young unpotty trained kids had antibiotics last week...you know what that means. I had a whole load of "accident" clothes that I threw in. I wanted to try how good Purex Complete with Zout really was, so I didn't even pretreat...just threw them all in. Guess what...they all came out gorgeous with no trace of stains. If they can do this with everything I am a believer! They only downside I saw, was that the bottle said to "pretreat" for heavy stains. For me, it is much easier and less messy to use "spray" pretreater than the actual detergent. I was really impressed overall though and plan to use it on all my kids clothes loads.

If you would like a free sample, click on over. There is also the option to choose a coupon instead of the sample. Since this is a new product, look for sales and promos to follow shortly. Also the first two people to leave a comment will get a free product coupon. Happy Laundering!

Purex Crystals Review and a Giveaway!

I was recently selected to do a review on Purex Crystals as part of being a Purex Insider. I think Purex has developed some really great products. I love the 3 in 1 sheets! I was anxious to try this new fabric softener in crystal form. Ordinarily I don't use fabric softener with most washes. I go in phases where I use it a lot and then I don't at all. I do like it on sheets and towels though. I was also concerned about how it would work in my new front loader washer.

I tested this product on two loads of towels. I liked how you just put it in the washer at the start (in the washer...not in the fabric softener dispenser). My towels were softer and fluffier than usual. I liked the smell, although I think I might want to try a different fragrance next time, just to see if I like it better. I tried Fresh Spring Waters It was a little bit "floraly", but still pleasant. I still intend to try it on a load of sheets, but I haven't gotten to that yet.

The only con I see, is if you spill the bottle, it could be very messy to clean up as the crystals would probably roll under the washer/dryer. But other than that, I liked the product and would recommend it.

Want to try it yourself. There are two ways right now to get it free!

  • Rite Aid next week has it on sale for $3.99
  • Use the $2/1 to be in this Sunday's paper
  • Stack it with the $1 video values coupon
  • And get $1 + Up=FREE!

Also I have some free coupons for this product. I will give them away randomly (along with some other good coupons) to a few lucky readers. Just leave a comment on why you would like to try this product and Monday I will post the winners.

If you like more information or a printable $1/1 coupon, please go here!

Dear Safeway, I love you...

for your coupon booklets. Remember the awesome Holiday baking coupon book, well there is another great booklet out at Safeway, in celebration of Frozen Food Month: March. Be on the lookout for this one, it has some great manufacturer's coupons that you can use anywhere!

I am patiently waiting for the return of the fab CHILL promotion that Albertsons did last year (fingers crossed). Until then, check out my new freezer. I actually got this for Christmas, but I am hoping this will be the month that it gets filled up!

Kmart Doubles Last Trip

I snuck in late last night to get a few more double coupon deals
  • 4 packs Pampers $9.99, used $2/1 from 2/27 P&G=$5.99 each
  • Enfamil $6.99, use $2/1 from pediatrician tear pad=$2.99
  • Water $3.50
  • Lemon Drops $2.99 (fillers used to get me over $50)

Also used:

  • $5/$50 Kmart coupon
  • $10 prescription gift card
  • $2 Enfamil Check (I was wrong earlier...I got my first free formula!)

I paid $18.12 (had to pay bottle deposit too) and got back $10 P&G catalina, so like spending $8.12 for all of this...that is a good deal on one pack of diapers! I hope they bring back the doubles again soon. I so love Kmart double shopping.

Purex Crystals

I was recently selected as a Purex Insider which means I get to test products and give opinions on Purex. I have long been a fan of the 3 in 1 product, but can no longer use it in my high efficiency washer/dryer. However, the Purex Crystals can work in HE machines. They also naturally based rather than oil based, so they won't decrease:

  • your towels absorb ability
  • children's sleepwear's flame-resistance
  • sports wears wicking effectiveness

I am in the process of reviewing this product and then I will have some high value coupons to share with you. For now click here to get $1/1 coupon link and learn more about the product. This is a new product, so print this coupon and look for sales to pair it with. Remember when new products are released look for high value coupons, sales, and promos to follow shortly.

Rite Aid Recap

Nothing fancy or money making this week, just some basic things with good coupon matchups.
  1. Added $25 from a rebate incentive
  2. Spent 64 cents from my cash envelope
  3. Retail Amount to date: $501.44
  4. Still have $11 in +Ups
  5. Amount spent out of pocket in 2011: $23.18

Macy's One Day Sale

There is a One Day Sale at Macy's today and tomorrow. No extra coupon, but check your own stash for recent mailings. There is an extra 50% off clearance, which is fall and winter apparel. Look at what I got yesterday, this darling warm ruffled coat!
Regularly $89.99, on sale for $14.99, I used my $10 demin coupon (promotion over now) to score it for $4.99! Wahoo! I realized after looking at baby pictures of my oldest, that I had been sporting the same leather jacket since at least 2003...so I did a little upgrade! So I beg the question, why would you shop at Walmart for clothing?

Kmart Doubles, my sister's trip

My sister did her first Kmart doubles run this week, she did a great job and found a killer Nivea Body Wash deal. She is just getting started in couponing, but is catching on very quickly. Way to go Dev! Here is her summary:

  • Pampers wipes refills—$6.99 each, used $1/1 deal from a previous wipes purchase. Final cost was $4.99.
  • Nivea bodywashes! It was a bogo (buy one, get one) half off sale at the store, the original prices at $6.29 and $2.65 (at half off). I had 2 $2/1 coupons, making the final cost only $0.94! Yes, you read that right, $0.94 for the two bodywashes!
  • Orbit gum—filler item (read bottom for details...) No deal here really, I just needed some gum and to get to $25.00! It cost $1.29.
  • Colgate toothpaste—$3.99. Used $1/1 from all you magazine. Final cost—$1.99
  • Johnson's Natural baby wash—$4.39. Used $1/1 from all you magazine. Final cost—$2.39

I saved $14.00 on my items that I used coupons with...which was everything but the gum, tax not included.

Kmart Doubles Day 2

Had another successful Kmart double day...not the lowest oop ever, but things we use and high value coupons to double.

  1. Kelloggs Fruit Snacks $2.79 each (not great, but the kids' treat), used $1/2 from tearpad in store=$1.79 each, not a stock up price, but they had been on errands for over 2 hours so it was a nice cheapish reward. Be on the lookout for this tearpad to use with a really good sale.
  2. Enfamil $6.99, used $2/1 from pediatrician's office tearpad=$2.99, I could have got it for 99 cents had I had my Enfamil checks with me :( Heads up though, ask to see the coupon bin at your doctor's office. They often have high value coupons for formula, meds, and other baby supplies.
  3. Dreft $8.99, used $2/1 from a P&G package insert=$4.99
  4. Huggies Wipes $2.99, used 2 $1/1 from home mailer=99 cents each.

I posted this to point out two things, #1 coupons are everywhere, be constantly on the lookout! and #2 it is possible to save money on things you use everyday...you might not get them free, but you can certainly lower your out of pocket. (I have yet to see free formula or Dreft.)
